The Contender has more beam, more live wells, more fuel and more fish box capacity than any other boat in this class. Designed from the ground up for triple engines, the surprisingly weight efficient deep-V hull of the 36 Open is quick to accelerate and delivers a fast and secure ride even in 4 to 5 foot seas. The cockpit, both forward and aft of the console, is huge with plenty of in-deck storage capactiy. The walkways are very wide. Notable features inlcude two oval 50-gallon transom livewells, an integrated motor bracket, transom door, a walk-in console storage/head compartment, belowdecks rod lockers and four insulated fish boxes.
